9. Course description:
The aim of the course is to develop the Academic English language skills of the students, so that by the end of the course, students will be able to demonstrate that they possess the necessary four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) to actively take part in university study to an international standard.

12. Learning and teaching approaches:
Whilst lecturing is the recognised form of instruction for most disciplines, teachers are encouraged to use their imagination when deciding approaches and methods of instruction. An eclectic approach, integrating multiple methods is required to facilitate the appropriate learning environment for individual students as learning a language involves doing rather than talking about doing.
